Workshops
We offer workshops concerning various aspects of traditional music in general, and the melodeon in particular. Generally our workshops are suitable for up to 20 or so people, but we can cater for more by prior arrangement. Tim is an experienced trainer, and previous clients include Lichfield Folk Festival, the Potteries Folk Festival and Sidmouth International Festival.
Previous workshops have included:
- Basic beginners, one and two-row;
- Playing across the rows (intermediate, two-row or three-row);
- Effective use of the bass, including traditional and more modern approaches (intermediate);
- Developing your own style - including examples of traditional English player's style;
- Decoration, ornamentation and an approach to improvising (intermediate/advanced);
- Playing for dancing (beginners/intermediate);
- Live sound and audio mixing for beginners (content variable, and lots of warning needed);
In general we prefer to tailor workshops to each client's needs rather than offer a one-size-fits-everybody approach. As well as "one-offs" we can present a series of linked workshops if required. If you are interested in booking us to run a workshop please get in touch so we can discuss your requirements and give you a quotation.
One-to-one tuition may also be available, depending on location and time available. Please contact us for further details.
